One of my favourite mountains is Buchaille Etive Mor at the head of Glencoe. I have been up it many times, both by walkers' routes, and via Curved Ridge and climbs like Agag's Groove. From the summit, there is a wonderful view across the wilds of Rannoch Moor. Glencoe is so atmospheric. It's great Highland country.

I have many mountains that I love. I'll start with the first mountain I ever went up, when I was just 15. It's Blencathra (also called Saddleback) in the Lake District in the UK. Along the moor at its foot are ancient standing stones - a prehistoric stone circle.

The mountain itself is wild and quite sombre and peaceful - and a lovely walk.

I think you always remember your first hill.
